Urban Myths

A canceled symposion at Reeperbahn Festival Conference 2014 – #rfc14

Urban Myths

Big Apple – you can best understand the legendary "city that never sleeps" by listing to stories of core inhabitants or tourists who fell in love with New York. Watching Woody Allen movies works as well. But you should never go to NY and expect to directly experience that specific atmosphere!

Myths approximate reality. Urban myths aim to deliver an interpretation of the city; they can neither be proved nor justified; but they turn out to be extremely powerful in shaping the image of the city. And then they'll come anyway – adventurers looking for the myths, entrepreneurs looking to make a fortune, and all the tourists with their digicams.

Four hosts, three invited speakers, one topic: digital urban storytelling – or – why the Reeperbahn Festival can only take place on Reeperbahn.

Urbane Mythen
